Studio Policies
1. Student Responsibilities
- Come prepared each lesson with sufficient practice
- Bring a binder or tablet containing any music your are working on to every lesson. (Sheet music will be either emailed to you or printed for you at your lessons).
- Students are responsible for purchasing method books, song anthologies, and any sheet music that I do not have in my personal library.
2. Family Responsibilities
- Encourage practice at home and ensure student has a space to practice their instrument.
- Ensure students taking a virtual lesson always have an appropriate setup ( a computer, private space, good wifi). Virtual lessons will not be taught to students who sign in from their car.
3. Tuition and Payment
- Lessons will be billed on a monthly basis for the upcoming month.
- Invoices will be sent on the 1st of the month and due within 1 week. Balances must be paid in full.
- Invoices will be sent via My Music Staff and will be payable via Venmo, Zelle, PayPal, cash or check.
- A $20 supply fee will be charged for every student upon registration. This fee will cover printed materials, such as sheet music, warmups, worksheets, etc. This fee will be charged once a school year.
- Students must give 2 weeks notice sent via email before discontinuing lessons in order for the following months invoice to be canceled. Automatic invoices will be sent until the studio has received notification of a student’s cancellation of lessons.
4. Cancellation and Rescheduling
- Lessons must be canceled 24 hours in advance to be considered excused. These lesson can be rescheduled in any open slot within the same calendar month as the canceled lesson. If no time slot is available in the same calendar month, this lesson will be credited to your account for the following month.
- Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice will be considered unexcused. No credits or makeups will be offered for unexcused absences.
- If your regular lesson time will not work for you consistently, please reach out about moving to a different recurring time. Repeated cancellations may result in removal from weekly lessons at the studio's discretion.
- If I know in advance that I will be unavailable to teach a recurring lesson, you will not be invoiced for that lesson. Any lesson cancelled after you have paid for the month, due to illness or unforeseen circumstance, will be credited for the following month.
5. Studio Calendar
- School year lessons are held September- May
- Summer lessons are held June- August
- The studio will be closed, (regularly scheduled lessons will be suspended), on the following dates:
Labor Day
Thanksgiving
Winter Break (CMS)
Spring Break (CMS)
Memorial Day
- Additional lessons may be added throughout the year and during Winter and Spring break based on student need and teacher availability.
6. Summer Lessons
- Student are encouraged to keep their recurring lessons throughout the summer. If a student is unable to keep their recurring lessons, they must take a minimum of 5 lessons over the summer to ensure their spot in the studio for the fall.
